so far the game is awesome, the multiplayer puts call of duty and MAG to shame. ive been playing as a sniper and the physics are sweet. you can actually pick someone off a mile away and you have to aim correctly.

I may pick it up once I finish Dante's and FFXIII when it comes out.

I'll gamefly it, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I thought the original was crap. Mostly because the bad guys ONLY wanted to shoot me, my guys couldn't shoot anything, and their was no point in trying to sneak up on the bad guys, because they all had superman vision and hearing. The story was good, and the characters were funny, but that's about it.

I'm told it doesn't reward rambo's like MW2 does.

I haven't played a BF game since 2142 either. I remember the online play being great. Not nearly as annoying as MW's 10 yo's with tubes.

I'm hoping the next generation of military shooters falls along the lines of MAG. Fictional wars that are persistant and massive. Gives a reason to want to win a match other than ranking up.

I also really hate that every weapons final challenge is the 40 penetration kills, f**k that. I prefer the system in MAG where you unlock and item, and it can be applied to any weapon you unlock that can utilize that item. Seems more custom.

I think they did a good job of addressing the shortcommings of the first game, ie. the superman vision/hearing and single targeting. MW2 has a great storyline and multiplayer isnt bad per se. However it does lack the customization and sheer magnitude of war that MAG has.

Simple enough for me. If I want to get frustrated with multiplayer gaming and generally wanna get pissed of at children with noob tubes i'll play MW2. If I want to work with a squad on a massive battle and truly feel like I'm in a war, I'll play MAG. If I want to take a tank and demolish some buildings around a couple of bad guys and enjoy awesome physics and some of the most realistic destruction to date, I'll play BC2. I've been lucky enough for sony to provide me with a disc eject button that I have these wonderful options.

Hell if i feel like jerking off to a night elf dancing with a blood elf I'll turn off the PS3 and log into WoW.

I was curious, so I watched the trailors. This looks like the traditional battlefield games, which are badass. I pre-ordered the PC version. Battlefield kicks the crap out of MW. You can't just run around by yourself and expect to get anywhere. You have use squads and communicate, and you don't get noob tubed every time you walk around a corner.

I hated MW2 except the co-op and single player, the multi-player is nothing but a mindless faggot spree of children. I hate all previous Battlefields. BFBC2 is F#$king amazing and I have only played the demo so far. Still waiting for my crappy Internet to finish downloading the full game and a monitor to hook my desktop up to to get here in the mail.

No game has ever given me so many memorable moments and all in such a short amount of time. Sniping heli pilots out of the sky (which is a damned hard thing to do), sneaking a tank behind an objective and obliterating the building it is located in before the other team finally gets their sh*t together to take out your tank, sneaking back to the enemy spawn point for the chopper and taking it out as 3-4 people are running to get inside it, usually taking out the 2 people who just got inside.

I just wish they had more classes in the game. It doesn't make sense to give the medic a machine gun. I am sure the DLC will address this and the developers have said they will have a ton of DLC for this game. Again... look at MW2. It was released in November and no DLC, barely any patches, the game is still completely unbalanced faggot fest.

I remember sniping heli pilots in an older game called Joint OPS. There were some larger heli's that could hold 10 or so people and a vehicle or two as well as the two gunners for the heli. So I'd watch a whole squad load up, get about 30ft in the air and drop the pilot and get credit for every kill and bonus credit for all 3 or 4 vehicle kills.

I was once a victim of this, but I was on a motor cycle so when I heard the ominous sound of a bullet coming through the window and killing my pilot I floored it and survived the fall on my bike and then just ran over the sniper. That game had a really cheap method of pinpointing where hostile fire came from and apparently this guy wasn't watching my direction anymore because he figured we were all dead.

As for MW2 patches, the only thing they've patched is the Javelin bug, and the infinite airdrop bug. Both of which still happen.

The game seems pretty good so far. My only complaint is finding full games, and the explosions don't sound like a F#$king explosion. The visual looks the part, but the sound is just kinda like a poof. When I'm in a tank I want the ability to feel the thump in my chest.

PSN = picofarad

WTF are you guys doing playing this game on a console??? You guys have serious issues! It looks like sh*t on the PS3 compared to the PC, although, it takes a bit of a video card to keep the FPS smooth.

I have it running with 2 9800GTX's and it looks badass. I hate FPSs on consoles. It's just not the same, but probably the only choice for people that can't afford a gaming PC. The best part about consoles are streaming video from PC to TV and Gamefly. Gamefly is awesome.

Only reason I do is because my friends do. Yes PC FPS > Console, but nobody to play with that I know. Also my cards are getting a little outdated. I'm running dual ati 3870's and they just don't cut it now, and I'm waiting for the nVidia 300's to come out before I upgrade. To make it clear again though, PC > Console for FPS.

I'm also pissed about the battlefield veterans thing. I have copies of Vietnam, BF2, and 2142 and to attach each one to my account requires a different method. The CD Key for Vietnam has been used (WTF?), I attached BF2 but I have to install the game and play a match for it to sync up, and my 2142 account info is showing invalid even though I can log into 2142 with it.

I am loving the game so far. I play the medic mostly. You can wrack up XP fast.

2 things i hate:
EVERYONE plays a scout
Being put into a squad with nothing but scouts.

Engineers rank up really fast just by staying behind a tank and reparing it. Or taking a vehicle and reparing as needed.

I was doing great with a chopper. I'd go blow stuff up, land somewhere remote and repair, then repeat. Then some guy spawned on me and took it. Fucker.

I like being a medic as well, but it does feel a little overpowered since they also have a machine gun capable of taking out heli's. Engineer is my next favorite, but I can't stand trying to help people out who are driving the tank and you keep them at 100% health, but they back away from an enemy tank that doesn't have an engineer assisting them because they are too stupid to see their health regenerating to 100% meaning certain death for the enemy tank in a pissing contest.

Normally I just ride gunner in a tank. Hop out and tag a tank, heal up what damage I can since normally tank vs tank is a pissing contest and if I can keep 30% on my tank then the other one will naturally blow up first. Anyways, normally I heal a bit, then run to the side and hit the tank with an RPG and get the big score.

I also love how grenades aren't super overpowered, but used right are awesome. You can toss them in Humvees and do some major damage. Or toss them in closed quarters behind somebody so they don't see the indicator.

I've yet to have a play session where I didn't find my self laughing my A$$ off at something. Be it a cool explosion, jumping a jetski off the heads of two guys who are bogged down in the water on an ATV (killed them), or jumping that same jet ski off a log into a conquest node and running over two people on land. There are even times when my wife, who hates games, is laughing at stuff. I made my way to the enemy HQ to snipe people. At which point I observed this guy who tried to take off in a heli 3 times, each time it took him about 7 sec to have the think completely upside down falling back to earth.

The game is without a doubt the game of the year for me. I too can't help but laugh at some of the sh#t that happens on the game. I enjoy the hardcore mode as well. You may see me on there sometime. HCJ_Ride_It

I played Battlefield 2 on the PC religiously. Money has been tight so I got sucked into buying an xbox instead of spending loads of money to keep up with the graphic specs of PC games today. I can honestly say that Bad Company 2 is sweet. Lots of strategy and teamwork make for a memorable time.

This is pissing me off. I just moved and I am still waiting for my desktop monitor that was accidentally shipped to my last location. BC2 is unplayable on my laptop and I already know from the demo that I won't be playing a better game for at least a year, possibly not even until BF3 is released. Godamnit!!
