Just got my follow-on after Lajes today and got the Warrior Prep Center in Eiseidlerhof Germany. I'm a 3D052 and just wondering if anyone has some good info they would be willing to share? I know it's all into war gaming and such, but would like to get someones perspective on how it is that's been there.

Thanks in advanced

It is a fairly significant computing center dedicated to running (you guessed it) warfare simulation software as part of training exercises.

Last thing I knew (years out of date), the Warrior Prep Center had several mobile exercise computing centers that would be taken to wherever the exercise coordinators thought they should go, and connect to the primary simulator back at Einsedlerhof.

You might sit at home in Little America (The Kaiserslautern community used to be advertised as the single largest concentration of Americans outside of the US) running the main station, or you might get to support the portable computing centers, or you might get to support configuiring things so that the exercise guys can use their existing computers.

I know the dedicated programmer team working out there used to get to control the bad guys during exercises. Maybe you'll get to do some of that, too. I wouldn't know.

Cool thanks for the info. Alot of my NCO's have all been to Germany and have given me the detail on the KMC and where everything is and where I'll probably be living. Also the most obvious all the best bars and places to eat.... lets just say a 3 hour shop conversation about getting wasted in Germany :P

And the last time I was there they let dogs join their owners inside! I loved that aspect of Europe...taking my dog into stores with me.

I was going to reply, but I thought hutsonj's reply pretty much covered it.
Do you have anything specific that you want to know about?
What do you need to know about? the work? offbase stuff?
I spent 4 years at Ramstein which is right next to Einsiederhof.

You will pretty much love it there.

I was looking for more specific's like the offices at the Prep Center and how the work enviroment is. Cause I'm still at my first duty station at base comm, so I was just hoping someone could hook me up and let me know how things are.

All I know about the Prep Center is ... don't get caught surfing porn there.. since it is not directly attached to the base, people there think they aren't being monitored. I busted a ton of people for porn in the Prep center cause they thought no one was monitoring. They were a close second to the Security Forces Squadron, and a much smaller unit.

Warrior prep center isn't small enough to tell you exactly what you will be doing. You need special access to get in the prep center.
I would assume either Sys admin work, or you will be training people that are about to be deployed, or both.. dunno though, don't you have a sponser? I'm sure you can request one.

I do know they have a lot of VTC action going on there that is run by comm folks. On a seperate note, they have a cool system that can detect when you bring a cell phone into the center. Germany was awesome though.

I wanted to buy a dog when I got to Germany (I'm at Sembach, about 15 mins from Einseidlerhof) but the laws are so damn strict, I decided to wait until I leave. You have to walk your dog daily, you can't leave them alone in a house for extended periods of time, and they need a certain amount of (read: excessively large) square footage to live in depending on the size/type of dog. Not to mention the noise ordnance. If your dog makes a lot of noise, you can get fined pretty quick for it.

My wife and I are both military. There's no way we could meet those standards with both of us working every day. And those are just the ones we've heard about from other dog owners. There may be other strict laws governing your dogs. Oh, I also know you need to put a microchip in them too.

I'm sitting in the WPC right now. I talked to one of the Comm guys here last night about how he likes it. He said he doesn't. They basically just have him moving around a lot of computers and various other equipment and playing helpdesk/jack-of-all-trades during excercises. But the area is great, you'll love Germany and you can take advantage of the facilities on Ramstein (10 minutes away)
