The 3A folks (Admin, Records Mgt, CSAs) have been converted either to 3D1x1 or 3D0X2.

That info is incorrect. The job offers a very rewarding opportunity and a chance to learn across a large career field. We do some geek squad stuff but then we also work "Classified Message Incidents". We create, delete, suspend and close network accounts using active directory and active client. We work comm equipment maintenance issues and keep the commander abreast of ALL maintenance actions within the sq. Some of the systems you will learn about Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS). On these systems you may be required to open a maintenance action job ticket anf track it from start to finish to include tracking any parts that need to be ordered and briefing the commander daily on the status/progress. By doing this you will learn how htat system ties into the overall mission and your importance in the "BIG PICTURE". Don't be misled there will be boring--geek squad days but all in all it is a good job.

Don't be discouraged in the beginning if you are not getting the good stuff or if you end up on the other side of the career field in the Asset Mngt Shop (formerly ADPE or Small Computers). This side of the world has changed drastically as well and it is no longer sitting at a work station fix computers or running around doing inventories. You will learn Data Base Mngt, Shipping and Receiving, Inventoy Control, and Distrobution. In your career you will have the opportunity to lear both sides of this new and exciting career field 3D1X1. BTW I am the Element Chief for Client Services at my base. I worked Cable and Antenna Maintenance my whole career up until two years ago when I was selected to come over and prepare the way for the 3D conversion...I have enjoyed it thus far. GOOD LUCK
